This is an interesting thing I discovered many months ago. See to your right? There is a long banner, linked by Google ads. Sometimes it has for our five segments of many advertisements (When you see them, by all means, click them, they will give us a bit of money for the book!!!). Ok. From time to time, you will see the long banner asking you to give money to Hurricane victims.
You know why it tells you to give money? Because we swear, big time. I mean... say bad words. I started noticing because it didn't make sense. We put the banners on so we could gather up money to do the WAS book. But, every time I logged in, I got the same banner. I tried to investigate... and I found my answer. If you swear a lot, Google Ads places a public service announcement, because products are not willing to get involved with, um, bad words, I guess.
Um... This is a difficult thing to understand.
I know. We like to say strong words from time to time. But honestly. That's how we talk. We want to make a point, and we want you to feel like you are having an honest conversation with us, even though it's a post and comment sort of thing. The thing that gets me sort of riled up is... this is not a just say a bad word blog. We write what we feel because we want you to relate. For some strange reason, products don't agree with us. Great.
So... Like Denzel said in Philadelphia. Explain it to me like I'm four years old. You mean to tell me that we have a blog who would help clients and ad agencies deal better and make their work better, a blog that helps us vent our frustrations so other people can relate and get it... and just because we need to say "shit", for example, they just censor us.
But, in the other hand, those same products place TV ads in shows where people get shot, raped, killed, mamed, tortured... What the F*CK? Take 24, for example, the show I'm currently addicted to. This is a very violent show. They have people get tortured. Shot. Humiliated. And it's one of the top 20 shows in the US right now. They have many products placing their ads in there. AAAAaaah. It's because Keifer doesn't swear. Oh! Ok. He can shoot a dude in the head, just that he doesn't swear before that.
Like Alanis said: Isn't it ironic... don't you think?
