I admit it. I'm a HUGE Trek fan. Used to watch it as a kid. Then, resented the Next Generation when it came out, but grew to love it. In later years, as a Creative Director, I even got to write a commercial that featured Klingons - and got to shoot the spot at Paramount Studios. The latest incarnations of the franchise, however, have lost me. I am REALLY, REALLY hoping JJ Abrams does a good job with this one.

As for the Trek, I really was tortured a while back in my life, at first, tied down to see every single Trek episode known to man. The tactics worked, my brain was completely washed and I became a Trekker.
I truly think the franchise will come back, stronger than ever and kick some serious Star Wars fans. You know, we have to stand proud, live long and prosper.
