The Magnolia Bakery cupcakes: a review

Came back from a little vacation time (yey) at my favorite place in all the damn world. I wanted to do something cool and memorable. Since I've already done the tourist things (Top of the Rock, Phantom, Chinatown, etc), I decided... this time around, let's do something cool and nice. After watching "Lazy Sunday" more times than I can remember, I had to visit Magnolia Bakery to taste the delicious cupcakes.

Let's give you the rundown, just in case you haven't had the pleasure. Finding the Bakery is a quest. Well, at least if you're not a local, it is a bit tricky. You have to walk for a while. Done. No problem. You think... They must be damn good, right? Yeah. So you walk. You walk. You find it. It is as small as a closet. And, voilá, there is a line. Damn, you think. They must be crazy delicious, 'cause this does not make sense. A 10 minute wait for a cupcake? This shit will taste like heaven. Maybe they put a little bit of crack cocaine... right?

So you finally enter. The dude at the door will let you know when it's your time to go get your shit. You must enter in an orderly fashion. You must cover your hands when you grab them. Flavors? Vanilla and chocolate. If you want something more fancy, you must order it at the counter. So you do the cupcake thing. You pay, what I think is an extremely priced cupcake and leave. You eat it at the small little park in front.

Munch. Munch. Um. Yeah, sure, the cupcakes are nice. But are they crazy tasty? Well, the frosting is way cool. But not wow this shit is the bomb tasty. Just good cupcakes. I've tasted equally good shit here at my local bakery. So... Thank you Andy for recommending them to us. But honestly... my local cupcakes can kick your cupcakes, any time of the day.

Happy Munching.
