Diary of an Intern Day 2

First real day on the job. Me and three other interns are in the creative department and we’re going to have to come up with a campaign for one of the brands of the company. Not sure what we’re gonna get but I think we get along well as a group. I met some creatives today and it’s classic, t-shirts, jeans, relaxed low-key mellow people with no egos. Really, this is a place I’m pretty sure I could work in for a couple of years. I found out that there’s copywriters and artists and lucky for me, I’m the copywriter so I have more say as to what ideas get done while the artist makes it look like it has to because that’s how it works here. Haven’t met the Creative Director yet because he’s mad busy but I was told he’ll be in the office next week. Anyways, there’s not much space so we got a desk, some paper and pens and a bunch of magazines called Archive. Dunno, seems like a good place to see what has won awards to know what gets taken into consideration. Anyways, I got a glimpse of what traffic people do regarding production schedules and passing along the jobs people gotta do. There’s due dates that are a bit steep but the AE that chatted with us yesterday said that’s not the norm and it’s just a rough spot. Probably a few days having to put some extra hours until shit gets settled, that happens everywhere. But everyone seems to have their shit together and they work in a team which is great. Anyways, not much to do today, but still the second day so I have to give em time. Oh well, will write more later.
