From Cuba with love cabron

Three what the fuck ads for Cuban rum. I'm still undecided as to whether mom would love or hate these. Hmmm.....

heh. the last one is mildly funny. but the concept, as a whole, is not clicking with me. different, but not necessarily great for being different.

Totally agree, I don't think it's good either but seeing as my mom is Cuban, I couldn't let this wtf moment pass by unnoticed. Does it make me want to try the rum? nope. it gets me to ask how the hell it got approved.

But you hit a great point, being different for the sake of being different is something we're often asked to do. Somewhere along the line, people just seem to forget the value and importance of a good strategy.

This sort of thing can happen when you've consumed too much of the product you're advertising.

Playing on anti-Castro sentiment, though, even "ironically" -- or, for that matter, ironically -- is a bit tired by now, isn't it? I can't imagine much of the plausible demographic really caring about the revolution in '59. That was, like, half a century ago, dude.

Viva Fidel, coño!

Does it make me buy the rum? No way man.

Did you guys noticed the audio? Sounded... recorded at my house or something.

A rahter tasteless campaign. Doesn't really accomplish anything.

Now you're getting the point. Money was spent on this and someone thought it was a good idea yet ads I make get revised to no end when they're based on strategy merely because some asshole got a whim.

Do I think the ads are tasteless? Of course but when has that stopped me from finding something amusing. :)
