Big Mistake: Sex and the City, the movie.

My friends, this is going to be one short and ugly review. So after avoiding it like the plague, I finally had nothing better to do than to watch Sex and the City the movie. Um. Yeah. Why? I just think that some things are better left untouched. They ended the series on a pretty decent note, predictable a bit but still, enough so I didn't need a full movie afterwards. But as with any other thing in life, curiosity killed the Me, so there I was popping in the DVD...

I am offended. Honestly. As an avid SITC watcher, this was NOT the movie I wanted to see. This was, mainly, an offense to women. Granted, there were some moments that were cool, but not so much that I thought it made the series justice. And then, just when I thought it was bad... in came the clothes montage. I puked inside my mouth a little. This was truly a turd of a scene. From then on... I just found it difficult to digest. The basic problem with the movie? Over everything. Overacted. Over styled. Over sexed. Overstupified (is that a word? fuck it I don't care). I felt like I was watching a Disney movie of a show I used to watch. I started trembling... Will they ever do a Seinfeld movie? Jesus I would die. This is what they call leaving on top. Some things are just meant not to be touched, period.

Look, I'm all for chick flicks - loved such numbers as Tears of Endearment, Steel Magnolias and other stupid flicks, but this one kind of ruined what the series were. I was right in not wanting to see it. But hey, like Dennis Miller would say: that's my opinion, I could be wrong.

I watched it for one reason and one reason only... the song playing in the background during Big and Carrie's marriage chat in the kitchen... I co-wrote it.

So I loved the movie, of course.

Well, one scene. I absolutely loved one scene. :)

Oh I know what you mean. I thought I would have added the DVD to my collection but this was a disgrace. I did see it on the theater. At the moment I like it but afterward it dawn on me how sucky it was. How this supposedly strong women end up swirling in the same bullshit drama of a telenovela. And I HATE TELENOVELAS!!!!
